Following is an updated agenda. The status pages are updated and on
the web at:
http://reality.sgi.com/dehnert_engr/cxx/cxx-summary.html
The contact info page is now also there, in password-protected PDF only
for privacy. The password is "not an orc".
The agenda is based on these priorities:
A) Exception handling, if we can get an updated description from
Christophe.
B) Virtual function call closure.
C) Initialization.
D) Mangling.
So, take a look at the material associated with these issues:
1) D-*: Exceptions (if we can get updated document from Christophe).
2) B-1: Virtual function calls. Jason's writeup is included in the
open issues page.
3) C-2: Static link initialization and priorities. Let's discuss
this further. See the proposal in the open issues page, and my
additional commentary mailed 2-3 weeks ago.
4) C-3: From my notes, we've apparently not discussed this
proposal. Let's do that.
5) C-1: The resolution to this probably hangs on C-2/C-3.
6) G-3: Inlined routine linkage. Please verify with your linker
people that it is suitable to make the proposed string duplicate
removal mandatory.
7) F-*: Mangling. We're awaiting a proposal from Daveed. However,
think about Jonathon's idea of a collision-resistant hash.
Issues that are active and awaiting proposals:
1) D-1 to D-3: Christophe will produce a minimal version of the C++
exception level API. Wait -- but this is the current highest
priority, since it has potential significant effects on the base
ABI. Closing D-9 is waiting for this, too.
2) C-4: Daveed will write up construction vtables so we can
verify. Wait.
3) F-1, F-2: Daveed will produce an initial proposal. Wait.
